Paint It Up!

Krista and I have been busy painting away since the weather has been so wonderful. We're not dripping with sweat, not slowly moving our paint brushes very fast lest we sweat even more. We can actually move large pieces of furniture without rivulets running down our backs. What a difference a week makes!

I finished this 'piano' desk last week, after it sat in the barn for nearly a year. It had a broken leg and I just pushed it to the back in the 'I'll get to this when I'm done painting all the fun stuff that doesn't need fixing first' pile.

But it was finally time to pull this beauty out and give it some love. It turned out beautiful! It opens like a piano and makes a little bookshelf on top. Little cubbies hide on the inside. It has one long drawer in front and awesome detailing.

It's going to Sweet Clover Barn for their August 16, 17, 18 sale.

Another cabinet that was in that same pile. I picked this up last October (!) and kept telling it that someday it would lovely and useful. For some reason, the previous owners had glued thin wood to the fronts and side with thick black tar-like glue. I worked on this for hours and hours. But once you get into it, it's hard to stop.

I painted this interior Duck Egg blue.

Available at Krista's barn in Comus.....$225.

Original handles
A great idea for those dated end tables.... pet beds! We have at three of these so will be making a few more. We took the doors off to make an entrance for your sweet little pup or kitty. It could handle about a 40 pound dog. Cute and cozy! $125

Kirsta finished a few children's pieces. We're trying a new blue. It's best to try on the smaller pieces first.

Cute child's side table

With marching scotties. We have a little stool to match too.
We're working int he barn all this week, so look for more furniture postings soon!
