sunset at Dancing Leaf Farm
Here is a picture that my neighbor took of the sunset viewed from the field at Dancing Leaf Farm. We never get tired of this view! Now you know where I get my inspiration for my colors!
More felting
I gathered my materials for the felted hats.
I bought a foam hat form from Hooked On Felt and I love it! It makes felting hats so easy. I wrap my roving around the form, overlapping as I go. Then I use my wonderful mega-needle poker and poke, poke, poke. This form has a flat top but if I want it rounded I just move the piece to my foam head and keep poking away.
Here is a closeup of the materials; dyed locks, felt and roving.

I just felt like it!
I've been working on a number of felt pieces. They look like sheep pelts from craaaaaaazy sheep! I dyed wool batting and layered dyed yarn and glitzy novelty yarn on tope. I wet felted them in a large plastic blind and bubble wrap. After rolling and rolling, beating and beating, I hung them on the fence to dry. I then went in a needle felted more wool on where it was a bit thin.
This one is the autumn colored one. And below is the meadow.
