Keepin' It Real

I'm not sure why I do this, but I do. I'm getting ready for my biggest show of the year, Maryland Sheep & Wool Fest and I throw in a HUGE barn sale the week before.

Krista and I no longer have a shop to sell out of so we are downsizing.

We unpacked all our stuff from the cubby holes we had things stored.

We were truly amazed at how much we had! Granted, some things were from our own homes as we've been purging all winter. Also Krista's parents downsized from a huge house to smaller one so we have some of their things too.

But most of it is from our finds for our business, 'Chirp'.

We are having a part yard sale part vintage pop up shop this Saturday.

We have 6 stalls FULL of furniture, some unfinished, waiting to be refinished…

and some already done, ready to be taken home and loved.

We have a kid's corner

vintage linens and lots of burlap

chairs, chairs, chairs

old wooden things….crates, barrels

pretty white tables

colorful tables

lots of small tables

oops…already sold!

This is what I'm talkin' bout!

PLEASE come help us out!

and in my other life….this is what my studio looks like.

fiber everywhere

yarn everywhere

thank you Ikea bags! I got 20 more the other day

every table surface is covered

and this is what my fence looks like when it's not raining.

I run away from the chaos at times and look at this in my dining room. ahhhhhh

Spring Studio Tour

Last weekend spring showed it's smile and gifted us with an incredible three days. Countryside Artisans  hosted it's open studio tour with 15 stops and plenty of arts and crafts to choose from.

Dancing Leaf Farm was fully stocked with freshly dyed yarns.

Lots of yarn was on sale and Chirp had their vintage furniture set up under the tent.

I was letting go of some of my collection of Beth Piver jewelry.

Felted brooches

Hand dyed wool felt pieces

up cycled critters

felt coasters

re-imagained vintage necklaces

yarn from my sheep

New ribbon yarn made from vintage silk saris

Thanks to all who could make it out and enjoy our beautiful area. I'll be working hard the next few weeks as I get ready for the Maryland Sheep & Wool Fest.

Critters

Krista and I spent hours and hours on snowy days this winter making these critters from her huge stash of felted recycled wool sweaters and vintage fabric.

The fabric base of these little monsters was salvaged from Krista's mom's table linens. Embellished with vintage buttons and up cycled Nordic type knitted sweaters.

We found this vintage floral fabric in a thrift store somewhere in our travels.

If you turn the previous critter upside down, it becomes this one. Reversible! One side is a rabbit, the other a cat. 'Cabbit'

Pals

These critters are made from a piece I felted years ago from the wool from my sheep.

Houndstooth dog

We have many more critters in the works. I'll be listing these on etsy soon.
