I got so tired of having my necklaces all glumped up on a small board and one little hanger.
After scoring 8 of these old shutters last week, I got an idea.
I cut 3 boards (1x3's that we had left over from our barn project) for little shelves,
found some 'blanks' from my old wooden letters to be used as brackets...
...and drilled and nailed them to the shutter. I broke a couple of them by not
drilling straight. doh!
Now down to the basement for painting and distressing.
I repainted our bedroom last week, so I wanted things tidier.
Voila! All my colorful necklaces (well, at least the ones I wear the most)
now fit in one place.
And are so easy to get to.
While I'm on the jewelry storage subject, this is how I display my earrings and bracelets.
I got this earring hanger (which is actually a wine bottle holder) at TJmaxx years ago. It's the best thing I've ever found for keeping all my earrings organized. And the bracelet holder is a clear flower vase. Think outside the oval.
